Films on Apple TV: category buttons along the top and posters below.

Demo playlist: the films are Blender open movies (credits) and the channels are made up. Kanema comes with nothing to watch.

Browse by genre, or by who is in it

Your provider’s films and series come with their genres, so Discover puts them in one set of genres, whatever language the provider wrote them in, each with its posters and a count. There are rows for what was added most recently and what rates best, the actors who appear most, and every actor from A to Z. Tap a name in a title’s cast, or search for it, to see everything that actor is in.

All of it is worked out on your device from what your provider sends. Nothing is looked up anywhere else.

Discover on iPhone: film genres as tiles of whole posters, Recently added with 11 titles, Animation with 5 and Science fiction with 1, then the series genres Animation and Comedy, and Actors below.

Everything the login brings

Live channels in their categories, the TV guide, catch-up on the channels your provider records, and films and series with plots, artwork and running times. Each film and episode picks up where you stopped.

Catch-up

On the channels your provider records, catch-up shows how many days each one keeps and plays programmes that have already been shown.

Catch-up on Apple TV: the channels that are recorded, with how many days each keeps, and the programmes of the one selected, each with a picture from it.

Your login stays yours

It’s stored on your device, in the Keychain, and Kanema only sends it to the provider it belongs to. There’s no Kanema account and no Kanema server.

When something won’t play

The connection test tells you whether the fault is your network or your provider.

It doesn’t come with channels

Kanema plays the playlist you add from your own provider, and nothing else. Only add services you’re entitled to use.
